INTERNET SAFETY AND MIDDLE-SCHOOLERS:
HIGH TECH CRIME EXPERTS SPEAK TO PARENTS AT
CLARENDON HILLS MIDDLE SCHOOL ON MAY 10
Internet safety for children will be the topic of a presentation
sponsored by the Clarendon
Hills Middle School Parent Education Committee on Tuesday, May
10, from 10 to 11 a.m. at
Clarendon Hills Middle School, 301 Chicago Ave., Clarendon Hills.
Speaking to parents in
attendance will be Clarendon Hills resident, attorney and father
of five, Keith Chval, who
until recently served as chief of the High Technology Crimes Bureau
of the Illinois Attorney
General’s Office. Chval, a frequent speaker on Internet precaution,
has just established
Protek International, Inc., a Clarendon Hills-based firm that investigates
cyber crime and
advises clients on related issues. The former county and state
prosecutor also serves as
adjunct professor of law at John Marshall Law School in Chicago,
where he teaches such
subjects as electronic discovery, digital evidence, cyber crime
and economic espionage.
Chval also is a member of the law firm of Connolly, Ekl & Williams,
PC in Clarendon Hills.
Joining Chval for the CHMS presentation will be Dan Ferraro, Deputy Chief of Investigations for the Illinois attorney general. The two also will address the pressing concern of identity theft prevention.
Parking for the event will be available on the west side of Prospect Avenue just south of the intersection at Chicago and Prospect avenues.
